Job description

Position summary:
Electrician 1 is responsible for troubleshooting electrical system, up-grading electrical devices and equipment, as well as general plant facilities modernization.
Educational requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Tech school certificate preferred
Skills and experience:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the electrical craft with some electronics preferred
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving history report
  • Ability to meet license requirements for Powered Industrial Trucks (Lift trucks, JLG's, Scissor Lift's)

Essential duties:
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical systems with some electronics
  • Be familiar with electrical systems including, PLC, DC/AC drives, motors, HVAC, and power distributions
  • Estimate, procure parts, modify and install electrical equipment
  • Train those of lesser skill sets
  • Be familiar with running conduit up to 1" rigid/EMT
  • Use multimeter, amprobe and megger
  • Drive company truck to various Interface locations as well as to supply companies
  • Comply with safety rules and environmental regulations
  • Be aware of departmental Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and LOTO procedures
  • Understand and support Interface commitment to sustainability.
  • Ensure ISO procedures are followed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain housekeeping
  • While performing any overhead work or task that creates metal shavings/foreign debris you must take all necessary precautions to prevent material from getting in the carpet

Physical demands:
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Extensive walking
  • Daily climbing of ladders and stairs

Work environment:
  • Non-climate controlled manufacturing environment
  • Work areas include but are not limited to: electrical panel, power distribution switchgear, breaker panel, etc... which requires PPE that is provided by the company
