Job description

You will serve as an Assistant Program Manager for Test and Evaluation (APM T&E) in the Test and Management of Program, and Operations Division of NAVTESTWINGLANT NWCF. Also, you will function as a F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office - INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/PHYSICIST/ANALYST/SCIENTIST supporting the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office (JSFPO) in Arlington, VA.
Qualifications:In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12/13) or pay band (DP-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional as a General Engineer/Physicist/Operations Research Analyst/Computer Scientist. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Planning and synthesizing engineering, acquisition test and evaluation, logistics, budget, configuration management, and other functional specialties into integrated test and evaluation strategies and processes to support an air weapon system acquisition program; 2) Providing test and evaluation advice to internal and external contact on matters concerning air weapon system test planning and test execution; and 3) Collaborating with others on team building, problem solving, and decision making techniques in support of assigned program/project.

-Successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science of physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics; or electronics.
OR
-Have a combination of education and experience - college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering; and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (a) professional registration, (b) evidence of successfully passing the Engineer-In-Training examination; (c) successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in 1. A above; or (d) successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field, e.g., physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a degree in engineering, provided that it included at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.
Applicants being considered for 1310 occupational series must meet positive education/basic qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual as listed below:
-Have successfully completed a bachelor's degree or higher in physics, or a related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics. Courses must have included a fundamental course in general physics and, in addition, course in any of two of the following: electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, modern physics, and sound.
Or
-Have a combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Courses must have included a fundamental course in general physics and, in addition, course in any of two of the following: electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, modern physics, and sound.
Applicants being considered for 1515 occupational series must meet positive education/basic qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual as listed below:
-Have a bachelor's or higher degree in operations research.
OR
-Have successfully completed a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours are in calculus.
Applicants being considered for 1550 occupational series must meet positive education/basic qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual as listed below:
-Have successfully completed a bachelor's degree in computer science.
OR
-Have successfully completed a bachelor's or higher degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of my 30 semester hours were in a combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
