With its focus on interdisciplinary teaching, scholarship, and community service, the Interdisciplinary Studies Department (ISD) is an innovative and forward-looking department that seeks'to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century, challenges that require understanding the interconnectedness of people and ideas. Our degrees and courses bring together insights and faculty from multiple disciplines and encourage engaged scholarly activities aimed at solving real world problems, from the local to the global.
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies for the academic year 2026-2027. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
  • Teaching undergraduate courses in one or more of our interdisciplinary programs of study, which include American Studies; Black Studies; Gender and Women's Studies; Interdisciplinary Studies; Latin American and Latinx Studies; Leadership Studies; Native American and Indigenous Studies; Peace and Justice Studies; Religious Studies; and Studies in Science, Technology, and Society.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in the teaching discipline or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

OR
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
