Job Summary:

Certerra has an immediate opening for a full-time Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Inspector in Tucson, AZ. The position is best suited for someone interested in working in a fast-paced consultant environment, does not mind some travel, and capable of effectively working as part of a collaborative team.

Certerra is a consulting firm focused on building a highly skilled, collaborative team to provide innovative geotechnical, environmental and construction materials engineering services. Duties:

As part of an experienced team, you will apply your testing and inspection capabilities to a variety of projects. Applicants shall have an educational or professional background in construction inspection services and have experience evaluating soils, concrete, and asphalt, as they relate to site construction. Report writing and computer skills are required. Experience in airfield pavement construction, landfill construction quality control/assurance is a plus.


Requirements, Testing, and Inspection responsibilities include:

    • Field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
    • Maintaining required certifications
    • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds
    • Coordinating with clients and Certerra/Insight Group engineering and professional state.
    • Travel to client facilities as needed
    • Report writing and computer skills
    • Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
    • Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
    • Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM.
    • Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks.
    • Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration.
    • Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
    • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.


Education/Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma (Preferred)


Certifications/Licenses:

    • Valid Driver's License (Required)
    • ACI Certifications (Preferred)
