About Bauer's Intelligent Transportation

Bauer's Intelligent Transportation is a premier provider of luxury ground transportation throughout Northern California. Bauer's is looking for an experienced Driver Safety Trainer to train and prepare new chauffeurs for safe, professional passenger transportation. In this role, you'll lead classroom training on traffic laws, safety regulations, company policies, and defensive driving practices. You'll also support behind-the-wheel training when needed to help drivers build the skills and confidence to succeed.

We're looking for someone with strong communication skills, transportation industry experience, and a passion for developing safe, customer-focused professional drivers.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections and air brake training for new drivers
  • Train and coach both new and existing drivers on the use of tools, equipment, and routing procedures
  • Provide training across a variety of road conditions, including steep grades, ice, snow, gravel roads, highways, and night driving
  • Deliver instruction on in-trip emergency procedures (e.g., chain-up, breakdown response, towing protocols)
  • Evaluate driver readiness prior to road testing
  • Conduct driver evaluations as required
  • Partner with Safety Managers and leadership to support investigations of motor vehicle incidents
  • Develop and manage training and evaluation schedules
  • Maintain accurate training records, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Assist in coordinating and delivering specialized safety seminars (e.g., driving hazards, logbook compliance)
  • Administer certified in-class training, including air brake certification, defensive driving, and logbook exam
  • Ensure compliance with proper pre-trip inspection standards and company safety policies
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in the trucking or transportation industry
  • Strong knowledge of DOT inspection standards and safety regulations
  • Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with passenger and air brake endorsements
  • Behind-the-wheel (BTW) training certification required
  • Prior experience as a Driver Trainer or Safety Instructor
  • Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Certification in defensive driving instruction or similar programs is a plus
  • Proven ability to coach, train, and mentor drivers effectively
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching adults in a classroom or training environment.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective training techniques.
  • Experience using digital training tools or e-learning platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
