GPI seeks an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Engineer to join our Bridgewater, NJ, office. Candidates should have experience in designing, planning, system development, integration, and delivery of technology within complex operational transportation environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of ITS and Systems Engineering for Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), incident management systems, traffic management systems, traffic information systems, and other ITS components, including but not limited to, dynamic / variable message signs, CCTV surveillance systems, traffic detection, and connected vehicles.
  • Perform all aspects of communications design including fiber optic, telco, and wireless.
  • Understanding of network security / design and controls systems design
  • Complete site visits, evaluate and analyze existing systems
  • Develop SERF and ConOps reports and plans based on project analyses and assessments
  • Attend project meetings/ perform project coordination

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Electrical, Computer Engineering / Science or similar
  • Previous NJDOT ITS design experience preferred
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
  • 5 plus years of ITS design and Systems Engineering experience
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is a plus
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
