Job Title:SharePoint Systems Engineer

Position Location:Raleigh, NC. Hybrid position, must live locally.

Job Summary:

The SharePoint Systems Engineer is responsible for the administration, governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Credit Union's Microsoft 365 collaboration platform, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams integrations, Power Platform solutions, and related services. The role ensures the platform remains secure, reliable, user-friendly, and aligned with business objectives.

The SharePoint Systems Engineer serves as both an operational steward and innovator, overseeing daily platform health while driving modernization initiatives that leverage workflow automation, artificial intelligence, knowledge management, and digital workplace transformation. This role partners with business stakeholders to improve processes, automate manual work, enhance information architecture, and maximize organizational adoption of Microsoft collaboration technologies.

As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:
  • (60%) Administer and maintain SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams-integrated collaboration sites, and associated Microsoft 365 services:
    • Monitor platform health, storage utilization, permissions, security settings, and service performance to ensure availability, reliability, and compliance.
    • Research industry trends and Microsoft roadmap developments, assess platform performance and adoption metrics, and recommend improvements that enhance collaboration, security, automation, employee productivity, and digital workplace maturity.
  • (25%) Lead business process automation initiatives using Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, Forms, Lists, and emerging Microsoft 365 capabilities:
    • Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes, increase operational efficiency, and improve user experience through workflow automation and digital transformation.
    • Develop and maintain platform documentation, operational procedures, governance standards, training materials, adoption resources, and support processes.
    • Provide technical consultation, troubleshooting, and guidance to users, site owners, administrators, and project teams.
  • (15%) Evaluate, implement, and enhance AI-powered collaboration capabilities, including Microsoft Copilot, intelligent search, content discovery, knowledge management, document classification, and automation solutions. Partner with business units to identify use cases and maximize value from emerging Microsoft technologies.

Experience:

  • Five years of experience administering SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies, or enterprise content management platforms.
  • Experience with the following:
    • implementing and supporting SharePoint governance, site architecture, permissions management, records management, and document lifecycle controls
    • Microsoft Power Platform technologies including Power Automate, Power Apps, Forms, and Lists
    • Developing workflow automation solutions and business process improvement initiatives
    • Supporting Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, and related Microsoft 365 services
    • Adoption, training, change management, and user enablement activities
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled workplace technologies, Microsoft Copilot, intelligent content services, or similar productivity solutions preferred.
  • Experience in a financial services or highly regulated environment preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business information systems, or related field; or four years of additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, or related certifications preferred; e.g.
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate
    • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate
