Job description

The Senior Market Intelligence Manager leads AEVEX's enterprise-wide market, competitor, and customer intelligence function. This role serves as the organization's authoritative expert and is responsible for producing high-fidelity, actionable intelligence that informs strategy, capture, pricing, and investment decisions across both Tactical Systems (TS) and Global Solutions (GS). Operating in a high complexity, multi-domain environment, the role synthesizes defense budgets, competitive activity, technology trends, and customer demand into clear guidance for executive leadership and cross functional teams.

Essential Functions

  • Market Strategy & Forecasting
  • Analyze U.S. DoD budget materials including justification books, appropriations, POM shifts, and multi-year funding patterns to align opportunities with TS and GS portfolios.
  • Develop forecasting models linking budget signals to AEVEX opportunity windows across TS (NAC, UAS, USV, and Special Programs) and GS (AM&I, Airborne ISR, Intelligence Analysis, and Mission Support) portfolios.
  • Assess international customer budget cycles, security cooperation pathways, and acquisition planning to identify aircraft, UxS, ISR, and service-based demand signals.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry shifts to forecast their long-term impact on AEVEX's market share and strategic roadmap.
  • Translate complex market data into strategic insights supporting corporate planning, marketing strategy, long-range planning, investments, and product roadmaps.
  • Competitive Intelligence Leadership
  • Perform competitor analyses including solution architectures, pricing behaviors, technology maturity, sustainment models, and contract performance history.
  • Develop comparative assessments across TS (NAC, UAS, USV, Special Programs) and GS (AM&I, ISR, Intel Analysis, Mission Support) to identify strategic advantages and vulnerabilities.
  • Lead Black Hat reviews to simulate competitor strategies and refine AEVEX's technical and pricing approaches.
  • Maintain competitive catalogs mapping incumbents, teaming dynamics, and historical award patterns across key accounts.
  • Capture Support & Price-to-Win Strategy
  • Deliver PTW analysis integrating pricing intelligence, historical tendencies, technical discriminators, and risk-based modeling.
  • Advise Capture Managers and business development leadership on differentiated value propositions needed to win new and incumbent programs.
  • Partner closely with product teams to refine messaging and align offerings with verified market needs.
  • Guide capture teams across TS and GS in shaping competitive technical solutions informed by intelligence insights.
  • Provide Gate Review inputs including competitive ranges, pricing envelopes, and competitor risk profiles.
  • Work with proposal teams to ensure market intelligence informs solution narratives and key differentiators.
  • Cross Functional Integration & Collaboration
  • Serve as enterprise integrator of intelligence across engineering, capture, proposal, TS, and GS teams.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to align intelligence with solution design and lifecycle planning.
  • Coordinate with leadership to ensure intelligence products support near-term captures and long-term strategic positioning.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain enterprise access to Janes Defense or other premium intelligence platforms.
  • Produce executive-ready reports, dashboards, and decision briefs.
  • Support internal training and process improvement initiatives related to market intelligence and competitive analysis.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Strong expertise in UxS, manned aviation, services, and defense technology sectors.
  • Advanced analytical ability with proficiency in translating large, complex datasets into meaningful insights.
  • High proficiency in Excel and data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills and ability to drive alignment across departments.

Security Clearance

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MS) in a related technical or business field highly desired.

Experience

  • 8+ years of dedicated market intelligence or business development experience within aerospace & defense.
  • Experience with research tools and data platforms
  • Experience in a marketing or product marketing environment
