Role: Buyer I
Location: Westfield, IN 46074
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer I to support site-wide purchasing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for procuring materials, MRO supplies, and services while ensuring the best combination of cost, quality, and delivery to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase materials, supplies, and services in an economical and efficient manner.
  • Manage site-wide purchasing activities and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, MRO items, and services to support operations.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
  • Conduct cost analyses and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Ensure all purchases comply with company purchasing policies, quality standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Follow ISO, cGMP, and SOP requirements related to purchasing activities.
  • Monitor supplier performance and support corrective and preventive actions when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor files, and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximize value and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials and services.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes, inventory management, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Ability to analyze costs and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing/ERP systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO, cGMP, and quality system requirements.
  • Experience purchasing raw materials, MRO supplies, and operational services.
  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.).
