Position Summary
Abbott is seeking an Operator I to support the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing environment. Under close supervision, the selected candidate will perform assembly, repair, testing, and documentation activities related to pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and associated medical device products while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assembly, repair, and testing operations on medical devices and related components.
- Follow standardized manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain accurate production, traveler, and quality documentation.
- Ensure product traceability and support quality investigations when required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and visitors.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other compliance programs.
- Monitor individual and team performance metrics to achieve production and quality goals.
- Utilize electronic data collection systems and manufacturing software.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, or medical device experience preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer skills and experience using electronic systems.
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Comfortable handling small components and performing repetitive tasks.
