The Role and Impact
Join Intel as an Engineering Commodity Manager and play a vital role in shaping and managing the supply chain strategies critical to Intel's innovation and success. In this position, you will leverage your engineering and technical expertise to drive supplier collaboration, ensure supply chain resilience, and contribute to the development and delivery of Intel's cutting-edge products. Your work will directly impact Intel's ability to meet its technology roadmap, achieve competitive advantage, and maintain leadership in the semiconductor industry. This is your opportunity to combine strategic thinking, engineering acumen, and supplier management skills to deliver meaningful results at a global scale.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies that meet Intel's technical, cost, quality, availability, and sustainability requirements.

  • Build and manage relationships with suppliers to drive innovation, improve performance, and ensure alignment with Intel's long-term business objectives.

  • Lead supplier negotiations, including terms, conditions, and pricing, to achieve favorable outcomes for Intel.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and legal, to address purchasing requirements and resolve disputes.

  • Analyze evolving market conditions and implement strategic pivots to ensure business continuity and risk mitigation.

  • Define and negotiate technical contract terms to meet both Intel's and supplier capabilities.

  • Drive supplier performance improvements in areas such as quality, reliability, yield, and cost.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of sourcing strategies, aligning supplier roadmaps with Intel's strategic objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and sustainability requirements while adhering to Intel's procurement policies.

  • Provide technical insights and supplier engagement to support supply chain solutions tailored to complex development needs.

  • Strong ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders internally and externally.

  • Strategic acumen and capability to develop actionable plans in ambiguous scenarios.

Qualifications:

This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or BS degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • 9+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, 6+ years with a Master's degree, or 4+ years with a PhD in the semiconductor or supply chain industry.

4+ years of experience in the following:

  • Commodity management, sourcing strategies, and supplier relationship management.

  • Contract negotiation and risk mitigation.

  • Semiconductor industry technology roadmaps and supply chain solutions.

  • Data analysis, market intelligence, and technical documentation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a technical or business discipline such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering.

  • Experience with semiconductor processing equipment and materials for front-end and back-end manufacturing.

  • Manage supplier performance and driving cost-reduction initiatives.

  • Experience with managing supply chain engineering, value engineering, and capacity planning.

  • ERP systems and sourcing methodologies.
