Torch Technologies is seeking a Mission Data Systems Design Engineer to join a team to design, develop, maintain, and test mission data for the 16th EWS/SWB of the 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing.

As a Mission Data Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Functions as senior EW system engineer and technical lead for mission data (MD) design, development, testing, evaluation, and engineering on the applicable EW system

  • Serves as lead engineer/team manager during major EW System operational test and evaluation

  • Functions as senior system project engineer in performing advanced systems engineering and hardware/software applications/design for EW equipment or devices

  • Senior engineer with project management responsibility to direct/conduct research and development demonstrations for complex Electromagnetic Warfare systems

  • Gather, interpret, and program emitter definitions using EDG, Spectre, and other relevant software referencing applicable intel sources

  • Understand and program other ancillary Radar Warning Receiver parameters

  • Experience programing and running electromagnetic environment simulations, CEESIM and Keysight Simview desired

  • Interpret test results and translate to ability to meet customer objectives

  • Ability to build prototype tools to support efforts in suitable languages such as Matlab, Python, and/or Java desired

  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure mission data design, development, and testing meets customer requirements

  • Provide training to less senior staff to enable them to contribute to the mission

  • Ability to write code that supports MD reprogramming process

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field or similar experience in Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations related to platforms.

  • Specific Work Experience - 3+ years

  • Programming skills and knowledge of various programming languages.

  • Testing and debugging skills related to mission data development and testing.

  • Experience in the development and implementation of MD on aircraft electronic warfare (EW) and/or defensive systems.

  • Experience in providing engineering and analysis in the following activities: developing and updating threat databases using Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming (EWIR) tools, conducting, and reporting performance characterization assessments (PCAs); designing and using computer-based tools to flag and extract threat system parametric for analyses; generating optimized EW MD software files; developing and using software simulations and EW laboratory facilities to verify and validate MD prior to fielding; and performing rapid reprogramming of fielded MD in response to adversary threat changes.

  • Current TS Clearance with SCI eligibility is required to start work. Must be maintained throughout employment tenure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with programming and debugging electromagnetic environment simulation models and scenarios.

  • Experience managing multiple Areas of Regard for mission data and prioritizing and assigning emitters in order to maintain currency of the same

  • Experience in interacting with System Program Offices and other military organizations

  • Experience in the DAF acquisition cycle

  • Experience in developing and presenting technical briefings
