Job description

As a Caregiver at Homewatch CareGivers of East St. Paul, you will provide compassionate, personalized home care tailored to each client’s unique needs. Collaborating with a dedicated team, you ensure every client feels safe, valued, and respected in their own home. This on-site role offers the opportunity to make meaningful connections and positively impact individuals in your community while upholding our mission of safety, dignity, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) ensuring client comfort and safety
  • Follow individualized care plans and instructions from the Head Nurse and care management team
  • Monitor clients’ physical and emotional conditions; promptly report and document changes or concerns
  • Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, mobility, transfers, and basic prescribed exercises
  • Maintain clear and respectful communication with clients, families, and care team members to support quality care
  • Travel reliably to client homes within the service area, commuting up to 30–40 minutes as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in caregiving roles
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) credentials
  • Valid experience
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Proven ability to provide personal care and support with ADLs
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated compassion and patience towards clients and families
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Effective time management and basic housekeeping skills
  • Competent in mobility assistance and transfers
  • Dependability and reliability in attendance and duties

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in CPR or first aid
  • Fluency in additional languages
  • Specialized training in elder care or dementia care

Employment Type & Availability

  • Per diem (as-needed) position with variable hours and assignments based on client and scheduling needs
