Job description
Under the direction of the Vice President of Revenue Cycle, the Director of Revenue Integrity oversees the Revenue Integrity Department. The Director is responsible for supporting the enhancement and maintenance of properly functioning revenue capture processes at Mosaic Life Care. The Revenue Integrity Director works across the organization, collaborating with Managed Care, Finance, Technology Services and clinical teams to ensure accurate, timely and compliant revenue posting and reimbursement. Provides guidance and oversight for charge description master integrity, patient account charge audits, regulatory audits and appeals, underpayment recovery and denials management for hospital and physician clinic services. Supports and manages the technical charge capture systems, processes and workflows of revenue generating departments for the organization to ensure timely and accurate recording of revenue, in accordance with all applicable governmental and institutional standards, bylaws, rules and regulations. Provides information to charge capture teams and operational directors/managers related to mechanisms of charge triggers, controls and reconciliation, and coding purposes of compliant billing and charging procedures. This position is responsible for developing and implementing price setting methodology and procedures. This position aims to maximize operational efficiency by supporting staff functions and promoting the integrity of the revenue charge capture system. To achieve these goals, the Director of Revenue Integrity identifies opportunities to work with leaders in other organizational areas - including compliance, clinical service lines, case management, Patient Access, Patient Financial Services and other departments - to ensure regulatory compliance, increase care coordination, and improve communication among departments. Principle responsibilities will also include directing the overall functions of assigned areas across the continuum to support quality, cost and satisfaction outcomes; assuring department is appropriately staffed and providing performance feedback, assure appropriate management of Revenue Integrity, and all other utilization functions. This leader interacts with leadership and front-line caregivers across the organization to accomplish department goals and assures that department objectives align with Mosaic's Mission/Vision/Values and Strategic Priorities. The leader is also responsible for designing and leading an integrated (enterprise) Revenue Integrity services. Direct reports include; Revenue Integrity Manager and underpayments team.

The Revenue Integrity Director works in collaboration with direct report caregivers to articulate a vision for the future direction of the department and assures that every decision made advances the department toward that vision. The Revenue Integrity Director is a thoughtful leader and expert regarding his or her department and is a valued internal resource for this knowledge.

The Revenue Integrity Director creates highly effective, consultative relationships with internal customers in development of processes. The Revenue Integrity Director, as a content expert, is effective in assessing customer needs, educating customers in the processes, and keeps customers informed relative to changes and improvements. The Revenue Integrity Director values consultative approaches and instills this in direct report caregivers.
- People Development. The Revenue Integrity Director accomplishes his or her goals through effective selection, development and coaching of the caregiver team. The Revenue Integrity Director continually seeks and applies best practice approaches in providing feedback through formal monthly and annual performance reviews and regular informal conversations. The Revenue Integrity Director uses critical conversations techniques to retain and grow high performers; to provide clarity and development for middle performers; and to improve or deselect low performers, continually seeking to improve both the clinical, administrative and behavioral skills of front-line caregivers. The Revenue Integrity Director sees self and front-line caregiver development as an integral obligation and function of his or her role. The Revenue Integrity Director understands his or her role as a model for HEART behaviors.
- Performance Management. The Revenue Integrity Director is the Subject Matter Expert in His/Her Industry.The Revenue Integrity Director leads, administers and improves all aspects related to performance outcomes for the department, assuring best practice processes. The Revenue Integrity Director collaborates with leaders and the caregiver team to establish annual and ongoing measures of performance and assures alignment to expected department and process area measures. This leader understands the disciplines of performance measurement and management and uses disciplined high-accountability approaches to accomplish goals. The Revenue Integrity Director engages direct report caregivers and end customers in understanding, prioritizing and deploying best practice performance improvement methodologies to assure top performance outcomes.
- Quality. The Director is a key advocate to assure services provided to the organization are carried out with the highest attention to quality. The Revenue Integrity Director sets priorities and assures department initiatives meet organizational standards. The Director specifically assures compliance with the Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Missouri Department of Health and other regulatory bodies. The Director participates on teams to prioritize and resolve stakeholder issues.
- Administrative Function. The Revenue Integrity Director works with the Vice President to contribute to and monitor the department operational budgets. The Director works with others to define equipment, supply, labor and other resource needs, helps prioritize among competing needs, and works with the Vice President to finalize annual budget. The Director also assures technology and systems meet the informational needs of the department and end customers.
- Evidence-Based Leadership. The Revenue Integrity Director continually gathers information from a variety of sources: customers, caregivers, leaders, and others to identify critical issues and problems and to develop breakthrough solutions. This leader continually seeks knowledge related to best-practice, evidence-based leadership approaches and engages others through teaching, feedback and encouragement. The Director navigates through difficult, complex situations, helping to resolve ambiguity and inspire others to their best performance.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree - Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or closely-related field - Required
Work Experience
- 5 Years - Five years' experience in a health care business setting or acute care hospital, preferably with hospital charging, reimbursement, and/or charge master responsibility. - Required
