Job description

About RTCA:

RTCA is a precision aerospace and defense manufacturing group built on decades of hands-on machining expertise, with roots spanning more than 50 years. We support mission-critical commercial and government aerospace programs across North America through four U.S. Centers of Excellence operating as an integrated platform with 150+ CNC machines and a team of 250+ professionals.

Unlike large organizations where roles can be narrow, RTCA offers hands-on ownership and real visibility – you understand how your work supports the team, the operation, and the end customer. Our flat structure allows employees to take initiative, grow their skills, and have their contributions recognized, while still providing the stability, advanced technology, and meaningful work of an established aerospace manufacturer.

At RTCA, we believe in teamwork, excellence, and delivering with pride. One Team! One Mission!

How You’ll Make an Impact:

The Project Manager will lead the consolidation of two aerospace manufacturing facilities, coordinating the transfer of operations, employees, equipment, and production activities into a single location. This role will partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and customer-facing teams to manage schedules, mitigate risks, maintain compliance, and ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to business operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management skills, aerospace manufacturing experience, and the ability to navigate customer requirements, contracts, and approval processes.

What you’ll be doing as a Site Integration Project Manager:

  • Working a full-time, onsite position at both our Sumner and Fife, Washington locations.
  • Develop and manage the overall facility consolidation project plan, including scope, schedule, milestones, resources, risks, and budget considerations.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate detailed Gantt charts and project schedules to track progress and critical path activities.
  • Coordinate the transfer of manufacturing operations, equipment, tooling, inventory, and production workflows from one facility to another.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Contracts, Program Management, and Operations teams to identify and resolve transition-related challenges.
  • Familiarity with PPAP, FAIs and AS9100 quality requirements.
  • Assess customer contracts, specifications, quality requirements, and regulatory obligations that may require customer notification, approval, qualification, or source inspection prior to facility transfers.
  • Manage customer-facing activities associated with site transfers, including documentation packages, change notifications, audits, and approval processes.
  • Coordinate facility readiness activities, including equipment installation, validation, process qualification, and production ramp-up planning.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and proactively address schedule, quality, cost, and operational impacts.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, status reviews, executive updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Monitor project performance against established milestones and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, customer requirements, internal procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements throughout the transition.
  • Partner with Human Resources and site leadership to support employee transition planning, communication, onboarding, and retention efforts.
  • Support business continuity efforts to minimize production interruptions and maintain on-time delivery performance during the consolidation.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, action item logs, risk registers, and executive-level reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in aerospace, manufacturing, defense, or another regulated industry.
  • Ability to develop and deliver clear, professional presentations that communicate project execution plans, timelines, risks, and milestones to customers and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling and planning tools, including development and management of Gantt charts and project timelines.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace manufacturing environments, customer contracts, specifications, and change management processes.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):

  • Experience leading facility consolidations, manufacturing relocations, or large-scale operational transitions.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality systems, customer approval processes, and regulatory requirements (AS9100, FAA, DoD, etc.).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Choice of medical plan options, including a no-cost employee-only coverage plan
  • HSA-eligible health plan with employer contributions
  • Basic and supplemental life insurance
  • Long-term disability coverage
  • 401(k) plan with up to a 6% QACA company match
  • Paid time off including vacation, sick time, and nine (9) paid company holidays
  • Shift differentials for applicable off-shifts
  • Discretionary bonus programs based on position and company performance
