Job description

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.
NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced assembly and construction of electronic, mechanical, and optical systems.
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting and repairs on equipment.
  • Calibrate and test devices using sophisticated equipment and techniques.
  • Document and analyze test results and maintenance activities.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Engineering Technician I personnel.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop solutions for technical challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Currently serving asACTIVE dutymilitary and be eligible toparticipatein the DoDSkillBridgeprogram
  • Associate's degree in a related field of study.
  • 1+ years of experience as a technician or in a related field.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 3 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to work with standard laboratory test equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Proficiency in electronic, mechanical, or optical systems troubleshooting.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Previous experience and/or certifications within the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other 3-D CAD software.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
  • Previous supervisory or training experience.
  • Advanced understanding of calibration and testing equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to be on your feet for much of the work shift.
  • Dexterity to handle and assemble small components.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and loud environments.
  • Ability to travel as required.
