General Summary:
Qualcomm is seeking a Manager, Strategic Communications to join our high-impact Strategic Communications team. This role plays a critical part in shaping and executing communication strategies that advance Qualcomm's long-term business goals, corporate narratives, and brand positioning globally.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and hands-on storyteller-someone who can translate technology and business priorities into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with diverse stakeholders. This role balances strategy, creative execution, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure Qualcomm speaks with a consistent, credible, and influential voice across channels.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Narrative Development
  • Develop and implement integrated strategic communications plans aligned with Qualcomm's corporate priorities, core narratives, and long-term objectives.
  • Translate business strategy, technology innovation, and market leadership into compelling stories that reinforce Qualcomm's position as a trusted, global growth company.
  • Support the evolution and operationalization of company-wide narrative architecture, ensuring consistency across content, speakerships, and campaigns.
  • Monitor key industry dynamics and trends and develop a deep understanding of Qualcomm solutions and business priorities, to drive impactful storytelling and content development.

Content & Creative Execution
  • Lead the creation of high-quality communication materials including messaging frameworks, executive narratives, presentations, thought leadership content, and other storytelling assets.
  • Partner closely with content marketing, executive communications, and creative teams to deliver unified stories across owned, earned, and shared channels.
  • Ensure storytelling is audience-centric, insight-led, and grounded in real-world impact-bringing the "human" element into complex technology narratives.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a strategic communications partner to internal stakeholders across business units, marketing, investor relations, and executive teams.
  • Support executive speakerships and high-visibility moments by contributing to messaging strategy, storylines, and narrative development.
  • Work closely with the creative and production team to translate storylines into compelling presentation content, including video, PowerPoint and other visual formats

Program Management & Operational Excellence
  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timelines, workflows, and deliverables meet quality and impact expectations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Strategic Communications processes, templates, and best practices.
  • Apply data, insights, and performance measurement to assess effectiveness and refine communication strategies over time.

This is an office based position located in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy. This is a U.S. based position and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 5+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
OR
High school Diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic communications, corporate communications, or related marketing roles.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complexity.
  • Strong understanding of how communications support business strategy in large, matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, work cross-functionally, and influence without authority.
  • Strong knowledge of wireless and computing industries, B2B, or innovation-driven environments.
  • Experience supporting executive communications or high-profile external communications.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled content workflows, measurement frameworks, or modern content operations.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fast-moving business priorities.
  • Occasional travel to events, including some international travel.
  • Self starter and quick learner with out-of-the-box thinking skills.
  • Detailed-oriented with strong analytical skills

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$133,500.00 - $200,300.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
