Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst (level 4) to join its Business Management team in Roy, UT OR Huntsville, AL. This is a full time on-site position.
The ideal candidate is a team player; but also, a strong independent contributor with strong leadership skills, demonstrated problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously update the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) ensuring horizontal and vertical integration across functional areas such as engineering, finance, manufacturing, and quality.
  • Coordinate schedule assessments and deliver concise executive and senior-leadership briefings, including variance analysis and performance-health metrics.
  • Conduct critical-path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and "what-if" cost-schedule scenario modeling to support decision points.
  • Identify, resolve, and mitigate critical-path and network-logic conflicts, implementing corrective actions to keep the program on track.
  • Produce and disseminate weekly status reports, Gantt, PERT, and milestone charts using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Deltek, and related tools.
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and DCMA 14-point schedule best practices to monitor cost-schedule performance.
  • Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to define scope, deliverables, and resource requirements, ensuring resource availability for scheduled tasks.
  • Perform schedule risk analyses and develop mitigation strategies, tracking schedule health metrics and variance trends.
  • Lead integration of schedule data within Microsoft Project Server/Enterprise Project Management environments.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with 8 years of Business, Finance, Accounting, Cost Accounting and/or Aerospace and Defense Business-related experience, or a Masters degree with 6 years of experience. A high school diploma/equivalent with 12 yrs experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with schedule management tools (MS Project, Primavera P6, Deltek Open Plan/COBRA/Acumen) and Microsoft Project Server environment; strong PC skills including advanced Excel (macros/VBA).
  • Experience with schedule risk assessment methodologies (e.g., DCMA 14 point, DI MGMT 81861) and application of industry standard best practices.
  • Aerospace/defense industry background with strong analytical ability, experience evaluating complex schedules, and preparing executive and senior leadership briefing content.
  • Aerospace/defense industry experience, including work with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Integrated Program Management Data and Analysis Report (IPMDAR) CDRLs.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience assessing and integrating supplier/IWO data into prime contractor business systems.
  • Earned Value Management knowledge and experience in a program management capacity.
  • Ability to lead CAMs and suppliers through Integrated Baseline Review (IBR)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman contract processes and procedures.

Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
