Full Charge Bookkeeper


Company: Integra Accountancy Corporation

Location: Bakersfield, CA 3850 Riverlakes Drive, Suite E

Work Location: Primarily in-office.

Pay Range: $32.00 - $35.00/hour, DOE

Pay Basis: Hourly

Target Compensation: $33.65/hour (approximately $70,000/year at 2,080 hours per year)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Required: 5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping / accounting experience

Duties / Responsibilities


  • Manage the full bookkeeping cycle for multiple client engagements, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank/credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledgers across multiple client entities.
  • Process full-cycle payroll for clients, including payroll tax deposits and quarterly/annual payroll tax filings.
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns for clients across various jurisdictions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot client accounting files in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules for client and firm review.
  • Assist with 1099 preparation and other required informational filings.
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and respond to bookkeeping-related questions.
  • Collaborate with CPAs and engagement teams to ensure client books are accurate, current, and ready for tax and financial statement engagements.
  • Identify and flag workflow or process improvements to enhance efficiency across client engagements.

Requirements / Qualifications


  • Minimum of 5 years of full-charge bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop required.
  • Hands-on experience processing payroll, including payroll tax compliance and filings.
  • Experience preparing and filing sales and use tax returns.
  • Experience working with multiple clients or entities simultaneously; public accounting/CPA firm experience a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for direct client interaction.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple engagements.
  • Primarily in-office at Integra's Bakersfield location.
