The Opportunity
An HR Coordinator will support day-to-day human resources operations in a fast-paced engineering, consulting, construction, and/or manufacturing environment. This role requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of HR experience, with a strong focus on HR systems, employee data management, and administrative HR processes. This position serves as a key partner to the HR Director, helping ensure accurate employee records, timely personnel transactions, and a positive employee experience.
The HR Coordinator will be responsible for opening and managing requisitions, processing employee lifecycle changes, maintaining and updating HRIS records, following up on timesheets and payroll-related activities, supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while providing responsive support to employees, leaders, and the HR team. This role is hybrid in-office in the far North Dallas/ Plano area.
What you will do?
  • Support recruiting, including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and support HRBPs with new hire onboarding/orientation and related paperwork
  • Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding for new employees
  • Maintain accurate employee records, timekeeping data, and personnel files in accordance with company policies, system and legal requirements
  • Assist the HR Business Partners as assigned in matters related to employee relations issues, documenting conversations and escalating concerns appropriately
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and union agreements (if applicable)
  • Track certifications, safety training, and other required documentation
  • Support HR-driven initiatives such as employee engagement events, internship trainings, wellness programs, and recognition efforts
  • Assist with administering benefits, when requested, including attendance tracking, and leave of absence documentation (FMLA, disability, etc.)
  • Serve as a resource to employees, answering general HR questions and providing guidance on procedures

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a professional office, construction, engineering, manufacturing/warehouse, or industrial setting
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • Familiarity with salaried and hourly workforce dynamics, shift schedules, and timekeeping systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact with employees across all levels
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, UKG, Oracle) and intermediate skill in the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Understanding of labor law basics, corporate, construction, and manufacturing workplace policies
