Scope and Purpose:

The Product & Sales Enablement Trainer will play a critical role in supporting the growth and expansion of ManhattanLife's Individual Life & Health distribution. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging training programs that equip agents, brokers, and internal teams with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to successfully market and sell ManhattanLife products.


This individual will serve as the subject matter expert for product education and sales enablement, creating scalable learning resources while continuously evaluating and improving training effectiveness. The ideal candidate is an experienced trainer who understands the insurance sales process, thrives in front of an audience, and requires minimal direction to build and maintain a best-in-class training program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Training Program Development: Design, build, implement, and continuously improve ManhattanLife's comprehensive Life & Health product training program with minimal supervision.
  • Training Delivery: Conduct engaging instructor-led virtual and in-person training sessions for agents, brokers, agencies, and internal associates.
  • Sales Enablement: Develop training that not only teaches product knowledge but also equips agents with effective sales strategies, positioning techniques, objection handling, and best practices throughout the sales process.
  • Content Development: Create and maintain high-quality training materials, including presentations, videos, job aids, quick reference guides, webinars, and on-demand learning resources.
  • Curriculum Management: Ensure all training materials remain current with product enhancements, underwriting changes, regulatory updates, system enhancements, and market conditions.
  • Internal Training: Provide ongoing education for Customer Service, Agent Support, Sales, Marketing, and other internal departments to ensure organizational product knowledge.
  • Training Coordination: Manage the product training calendar, coordinate training requests, schedule sessions, and communicate the upcoming educational opportunities.
  • Training Evaluation: Measure training effectiveness through participation metrics, surveys, knowledge assessments, and feedback while recommending improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Underwriting, Compliance, and Information Technology to ensure training reflects current business initiatives.
  • Spanish Language Support: Deliver training sessions and educational materials in both English and Spanish to support our bilingual distribution partners.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay current on insurance industry trends, competitor products, and adult learning methodologies to continuously improve ManhattanLife's training program.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
  • At least 3 years of professional training, sales enablement, adult education, or instructional design experience.
  • Previous experience in the Life & Health insurance industry is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience independently building and managing training programs from concept through execution.
  • Strong understanding of insurance sales processes and producer distribution channels.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience developing engaging learning materials using Microsoft Office and modern presentation platforms.
  • Comfortable presenting virtually using WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar technologies.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires approximately 10% travel, including agency visits, sales meetings, conferences, and industry events.
