Senior Statistician – Pratt & Whitney

The Statistics and Data Analytics team is seeking a confident, enthusiastic, experienced statistician to help guide the company as it navigates engineering and business challenges. You will work on projects requiring significant knowledge of statistics and have the opportunity each day to apply and develop your skills across nearly every area of statistics.

What You Will Do
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and analysts using classical and modern statistical learning methods.
  • Communicate effectively with non-statisticians and engage in engineering discussions at all organizational levels.
  • Train engineers in various statistical methods and technologies, including survival analysis.
  • Exhibit proven knowledge in high dimensional data analysis, Bayesian methods, survival analysis, machine learning, data management, general linear models, probability, hypothesis testing, experimental design, categorical data analysis, and statistical process control.
  • Build, test, and deploy machine learning models across multiple use cases such as design optimization, product inspection, field investigation, and productivity assistants.
  • Utilize large language models (LLMs) to develop business insights.
  • Create data‑ and AI‑driven applications (regression, classification, computer vision, NLP/LLM/GenAI, forecasting, anomaly detection).
  • Define, document, and train AI/ML best practices.
  • Provide guidance to entry‑level statisticians on the team.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • BS Degree in Statistics (Biostatistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research or similar field).
  • 8+ years of statistical work experience, or MS or PhD with 5+ years of statistical work experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience in AI/ML and Big Data tools (e.g., DataBricks, AWS).
  • Statistical consulting experience.

Salary range: 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD.
