Central Peninsula Hospital is seeking a professional to join our Risk Management team, with opportunities for growth and advancement within the department. The position may be filled as either a Risk Management Coordinator or Risk Manager based on qualifications and experience.
About the Positions:
The Coordinator role serves as an entry point into the risk management profession by contributing to patient safety, incident management, and claims coordination. This role manages the day-to-day operations of the incident reporting system, including follow-up, documentation, and communication, while also coordinating key aspects of the organization's insurance program and serving as a liaison with carriers. The Coordinator helps identify risks, fosters a culture of safety and reporting, and participates in process improvement efforts.
The Manager role provides strategic leadership for the organization's risk management program, overseeing risk, patient safety, and claims management. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of the incident reporting system, ensuring effective reporting, follow-up, analysis, and organizational learning. The Risk Manager serves as the primary liaison with insurance carriers. This position proactively identifies and mitigates risk, supports process improvement, and promotes a culture of safety, trust, and accountability.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience managing confidential information and coordinating complex processes.
• BLSP certification within three (3) months of employment.
• Certification in Quality, Safety, or Risk Management within one (1) year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications for Risk Manager Placement:
• Four (4) or more years of healthcare risk management, patient safety, quality improvement, compliance, or related experience.
• Experience leading organizational risk reduction initiatives.
• Experience managing claims, insurance programs, and incident reporting systems.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
• Successful experience in the Risk Management Coordinator role at Central Peninsula Hospital.
