What is the difference between Insurance Risk Management Consultant vs Insurance Underwriter?
| Aspect | Insurance Risk Management Consultant | Insurance Underwriter |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Certifications like CPCU, ARM, or RIMS certifications often preferred | Adjuster licenses, actuarial credentials, or underwriter certifications |
| Work Environment | Advisory roles, consulting firms, corporate risk departments | Insurance companies, underwriting agencies, brokers |
| Primary Focus | Assessing and advising on risk management strategies | Evaluating and pricing insurance applications |
| Industry Usage | Common in risk consulting and corporate risk management | Core role within insurance underwriting departments |
