Overview
 Sedaro is hiring a Project Manager to own the day-to-day execution of modeling and simulation software R&D and implementation projects to customers.

  • Team: Engineering, reporting to Director of Programs
  • Location: In person in Arlington, VA

As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative solutions on commercial and government contracts that align with our capabilities and growth strategy. This role involves managing day-to-day activities of multiple projects, communicating with customers, and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards. The Project Manager is expected to proactively identify risks and resolve issues to ensure successful project outcomes. At Sedaro, we are passionate about delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance national security and drive innovation in the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) industry. Who You Are
 We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and results-driven Project Manager with a proven ability to execute technical efforts across the entire project lifecycle. You are able to break down complex projects into actionable tasks, ensuring teams stay on track and meet deadlines. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and communication skills are essential, as this role requires coordinating cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations on-time and on-budget.

The right person for this role has at least two years of experience in project management, and a demonstrated track record of initiating, executing, delivering, and closing projects. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating the complexities of federal acquisition processes (FAR/DFARS). You can also understand a customer’s needs and communicate them effectively to the technical team to ensure customer success. Most importantly, you are driven by the challenge of growing a company, excited to work in a small, agile team, and eager to make a tangible impact on the company’s success.


 

What You’ll Do
Communication 

  • Communicate regularly with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals
  • Be the primary point of contact for customer engagement
  • Facilitate communication across cross-functional project teams


Execution & Delivery 

  • Manage scope, schedule, & cost through agile and hybrid practices
  • Lead milestone reviews and status updates with external stakeholders
  • Track progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable implementation plans
  • Ensure deliverables meet contract requirements, business objectives, and quality assurance standards
  • Draft subcontractor statements of work (SOWs) and oversee their execution
  • Discern, capture, prioritize, communicate, and update product requirements, such as use case descriptions and user stories, for example
  • Empower engineering teams by making customer intent and priorities transparent, supporting autonomy and accountability for technical outcomes
  • Manage project & labor budgets to achieve customer priorities and project needs
  • Facilitate agile re-prioritization with customers to ensure project work reflects current priorities

Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Project Management, Business Administration, CS, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience planning, managing, and executing projects
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers, provide regular updates, and address concerns promptly
  • Strong communication skills to lead meetings, including demonstrations, requirements discovery sessions and  retrospectives
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile) and knowledge areas (e.g., Scope Management, Stakeholder Management) and the ability to apply them to plan, execute, and monitor projects effectively
  • Experience with tools such as Jira and GitLab
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks


Additional desirable experience

  • Domain expertise in A&D
  • Familiarity with U.S. space domain acquisition and operations
  • Background or familiarity with software solutions in A&D
  • PMP or other project management certification
  • Experience working in small businesses or startups
  • 1 or more years' experience as a Product Owner or Project Manager in software development
  • Strong knowledge of federal acquisition processes (e.g., DoD/DoW, NRO, NASA)
  • Active or current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
