Responsibilities
The Director, Project Management leads end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives and complex transformation programs across W.R. Berkley Corporation. This role drives enterprise impact by shaping, aligning, and executing cross-functional programs, managing internal and external partners, and ensuring disciplined execution that delivers measurable business outcomes.
• Lead complex initiatives from design through delivery, ensuring achievement of measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop business cases, perform strategic business analyses, and serve as a liaison between the leadership team and key stakeholders.
• Identify, document, and follow up on key management issues and factors blocking or delaying decisions, driving closure or creative solutions to maintain project team productivity.
• Develop executive-level communications and presentations that drive alignment and decision-making across senior leaders.
• Lead steering and governance forums that enable timely decisions and maintain forward progress on EPMO-led initiatives.
• Plan, direct, coordinate, and support specific high-impact projects and initiatives from initiation through delivery in support of the overall strategic plan.
• Support and manage critical relationships with internal and external business partners.
• Contribute to developing company-wide standards for scoping, designing, and putting new initiatives into production.
• Apply expert knowledge of core technology and/or functional areas to coordinate program design and launch within schedule, scope, budget, and quality constraints.
• Report status and manage communications and escalations related to all EPMO-led initiatives.
• Mature project and program management methodologies necessary for effective solution delivery.
• Develop and empower EPMO staff with the skills and abilities necessary to lead high-performing teams and provide thought leadership to the business.
• Communicate EPMO successes at strategic intervals to build credibility and further influence adoption of standards.
• Provide leadership, direction, and assistance in direct support of the team lead and other executive team members, as needed.
• Partner with stakeholders across WRBC to develop recommendations that advise management on high-priority, high-impact decisions.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• 7-10+ years of experience in strategy and operations consulting, enterprise transformation, or program leadership.
• Experience managing organizational change and/or Target Operating Model transformational projects in a large enterprise environment.
• Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional programs in a complex, matrixed environment.
• Expertise in project management fundamentals, including creating and maintaining detailed project plans and schedules in Lean Six Sigma or Agile/Waterfall environments.
• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence staff and management of internal and external IT partners.
• Working knowledge of AI tools and ability to use them to support project management activities and identify opportunities to accelerate projects (desirable).
• Able to travel 25-75%.
• Lean Six Sigma qualification preferred.
• PMP Certification preferred.
Education Requirement
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, IT, or a related field.
