Job description

Executes implementation activities for programs to priority accounts and communities of focus within ACS PR (e.g. quality of life (QoL), prevention/detection programs). Accountable for mission targets and cancer control through relationship management and engagement of locally based accounts and other community-based assets. Strong collaboration with Development staff to maximize event success. Ensures goal achievement through the engagement and mobilization of volunteers.

Salary: $32,700

This role oversees the Southeast Region, including the following municipalities: Aguas Buenas,Adjuntas, Caguas, Arroyo, Canovanas, Coamo, Cayey, Guanica, Ceiba, Guayama, Cidra,Guayanilla, Comerio, Jayuya, Culebra, Juana Diaz, Fajardo, Patillas, Gurabo, Penuelas, Humacao, Ponce, Juncos, Salinas, Las Piedras, Santa Isabel, Loiza, Villalba, Luquillo, Yauco, Maunabo, Barranquitas ,Rio Grande, Aibonito, San Lorenzon, Vieques, Yabucoa

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Executes and enhances cancer prevention and detection programs, monitors return on investment in specific communities, identifies innovative solutions for quality-of-life needs, implements operational improvements for ACS PR, delivers results through systems, accounts, and collaborators, and adjusts plans and resources to ensure the achievement of objectives and user satisfaction. (40%)
  • Coordinates the delivery of staff and volunteer-based patient service programs in non-metro areas (including Reach to Recovery, I Can Cope, lodging and other projects and activities), manages local collaborations with health systems, oversees data registration with monthly reports, and administers event contracts in accordance with insurance certificate guidelines. (40%)
  • Ensures ACS PR staff integration to strengthen community presence and mission impact. Engages supports, and develops volunteers to effectively manage committees, programs, and services. Collaborates with the Development Manager and Event Lead to enhance patient and survivor participation and event success. (20%)

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree preferably in health care related field.
  • Years of experience: 3+ years of experience in oncology, community health education or related field preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in a range of computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Possesses outstanding written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative approach by building partnerships and effectively working in medical settings and interacting collaboratively with medical teams with knowledge of healthcare systems, and medical terminology and oncology patients and families.
  • Experienced in managing complex, high-pressure, and time-sensitive situations with a proven capacity for effective problem-solving.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of HIPAA regulations, collaborates effectively with hospital liaison and ACS systems staff, acts in the best interest of patients and the organization, projects a positive image of the American Cancer Society, and adheres to hospital policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • In case of emergencies, willingness and being able to work extended hours.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.
  • Extensive travel within geographic areas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to transport materials to various event/meeting sites.
