Job description

Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add a Paralegal to our expanding & fast-paced Springfield office. This position will require someone who is comfortable with multi-tasking and can autonomously handle a large volume of files along with meeting strict deadlines. Successful candidates should be teachable and have excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. If you bring us your hustle and initiative, we will mentor you with our knowledge and experience!

What you'll do:

As a Paralegal, you will have the opportunity to provide excellent legal support to your team of attorneys, legal staff, and clients.

  • Case Management: Keep cases organized by establishing and organizing files, monitoring calendars, tracking deadlines, and working with clients and opposing parties.
  • Scheduling: Maintain attorney's calendars, including recording and monitoring court appearance dates, depositions, pleading deadlines, discovery deadlines.
  • Legal Documentation: Prepare case and medical record summaries, draft legal documents, order and obtain medical records, and compile billing summaries.
  • Trial Prep: Assist with trial preparation including identification of and compilation of exhibits.

Education and Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Paralegal Certificate or Degree preferred, but not required
  • 1-5+ years of experience working in the legal field
