Job description

Pittsford Dermatology is seeking an experienced Front Desk Reception/Medical Assistant who is conscientious and highly organized. Office hours are (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:30 am – to about 5 pm.  and Friday 9 am to 1 pm). This candidate will be responsible for all front end office duties as necessary to ensure business operations run smoothly. This includes providing coverage as a medical assistant when needed. This candidate will also have a high level focus to detail. Will effectively provide safe, high quality patient care and excellent customer service. He/she is a team player with a strong work ethic. Follows established office policy and procedures and demonstrates our core values.

The qualified applicant must be able to multi-task and be very detail oriented. We are looking for a flexible, dependable, self – motivated team member who is diligent and above all values patient care as their top priority.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·         Answering phones, scheduling patient appointments.

·         Verification of insurance eligibility/coverage.

·         Collecting/processing co-payments, deductibles and or other types of payments.

·         Ensures the accuracy of all date collected while meeting the regulatory requirements as outlined by the office policy.

·         Assists with rooming patients, obtains histories, vital signs (if necessary) assists with medical examination and obtains samples from patient.

·         Queuing medication refills to Physician.

·         Triage patient phone calls/faxes and routes them appropriately.

·         Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualification:

·         High school diploma.

·         2 years of Medical Office/Health Care setting experience.

·         High level focus to detail.

·         Knowledge of medical insurance eligibility/coverage.

·         Excellent computer skill/EMR experience.

·         Strong communication and inter-professional skill.

·         Problem solving abilities.

 

Working Environment:

                Work is normally performed in a typical interior office setting. Moderate physical activity.

Requires handling of average weight objects up to 25 pounds. Exposure is to the usual medical office hazards and diseases.
