BlueWater Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Leader to act as a Southern Regional Medical Director and clinical smokejumper!
About the Position:
The provider in this role will be the Regional Medical Director for the 5 locations in BlueWater's Southern Region. They will act as the leader over the Emergency Departments in these sites, with each site-based Medical Director reporting directly to them. Additionally, they will supplement their administrative FTE as a clinical Smokejumper within their region, allocating their clinical time based on need. This position will report directly to the BlueWater Chief Medical Officer.
Specific accountabilities of the leader include but are not limited to the following:
  • Mentorship and leadership support to direct reports.
    • Direct reports are all clinical leaders assigned to Emergency Departments within the region.
    • The Southern Region Director of APPs report Directly to the Regional Medical Director.
    • Smokejumper physicians within the region will report directly to the Regional Medical Director.
  • Department meeting prep support and attendance.
  • Hospital CNO/CMO relations
  • Involvement in local ACEP and state medical society work
  • Quality bundle compliance
  • Staffing management (high level)
  • HR management (high level)
  • Support of sales efforts at potential new sites
  • New site implementation support
  • Interim site-based Medical Director leadership (when applicable)
  • Will collaborate directly with BW Hospitalist Medicine clinical leadership within the region
