General Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Account Manager - Licensing to join our team!

The Account Manager - Licensing will be responsible for managing and expanding our licensing portfolio, ensuring that our products meet brand standards, and cultivating strong relationships with our licensing partners. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and a keen understanding of the fashion and apparel industry.

The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role. This position is based in our LIC office and requires working on-site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive licensing strategies to enhance brand visibility and revenue growth
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential licensing partners
  • Negotiate licensing agreements and ensure compliance with contract terms
  • Ensure all licensed products meet Steve Madden Brands' quality standards and brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to maintain brand integrity
  • Conduct market research to identify new licensing opportunities and trends
  • Analyze competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions
  • Oversee licensing budgets, royalties, and financial performance
  • Monitor and report on the financial impact of licensing activities
  • Manage the end-to-end process of licensing projects, from concept to launch
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery
  • Oversee license renewals, amendments and contract-related updates, ensuring compliance with licensor requirements
  • Identify new licensing opportunities and/or partners
  • Negotiate terms for new partnerships
  • Work closely with legal teams to draft and review licensing agreements
  • Ensure all licensing activities comply with relevant laws and regulations
Required Qualifications
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in a related field that demonstrates your dedication to the industry
  • 3โ€“5 years of licensing or brand management experience within apparel, consumer products, or related industries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience managing external licensor relationships
  • Proven ability to manage multiple licenses simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy
  • Strong understanding of licensing agreements,contract management, approval workflows and compliance standards
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Creative thinker with a passion for fashion and brand development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $95,000 - $100,000 Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
