Insurance Leadership information

What is insurance leadership?

Insurance leadership refers to the roles and responsibilities of individuals who guide and manage insurance organizations or teams. Leaders in this field set strategic direction, oversee operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive growth and innovation within the company. They often focus on developing talent, improving customer experience, and adapting to industry changes such as new technologies and evolving risk landscapes. Effective insurance leaders require strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills to succeed in a dynamic and highly regulated industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in insurance leadership?

To thrive in Insurance Leadership, you need deep knowledge of insurance products, market trends, and regulatory requirements, typically supported by a degree in business, finance, or a related field and significant industry experience. Familiarity with insurance management platforms, data analytics tools, and relevant certifications such as CPCU or CLU is often expected. Strong strategic thinking, communication, and team management skills distinguish top performers in this role. These capabilities are essential for driving organizational growth, ensuring compliance, and effectively leading teams in a competitive and regulated industry.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in insurance leadership roles, and how can they be addressed?

Insurance leaders often encounter challenges such as adapting to evolving regulations, managing a diverse workforce, and driving digital transformation within their organizations. Successfully addressing these challenges requires strong change management skills, continuous professional development, and fostering open communication across teams. Leaders who prioritize innovation, invest in staff training, and maintain a customer-centric approach are better equipped to navigate industry shifts and guide their organizations toward sustained growth.

Build your insurance career alongside experienced sales leadership. Alliance America is seeking a licensed, detail-driven Internal Sales Support Specialist to support our VP of Insurance Sales and nationwide network of independent financial advisors.

In this hands-on, on-site role, you will gain practical experience with life insurance and annuity illustrations, case design, application processing, advisor service, and carrier requirements. This is an opportunity to become a trusted resource to advisors while developing toward advanced case management, internal wholesaling, or insurance sales-support leadership.

Alliance America has provided trusted wealth-management and insurance solutions for more than 40 years. We offer the stability of an established organization, a collaborative office environment, and meaningful room to grow.

This role is ideal for a newly licensed insurance professional or early-career financial-services professional who wants to build deeper expertise in life insurance and annuities.

This is a full-time, in-office position in Bradenton, Florida, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

What You'll Do
  • Support the VP of Insurance Sales with daily sales support, advisor follow-up, and case coordination.
  • Run life insurance and annuity illustrations; assist with product comparisons and basic case design. Training is provided.
  • Partner with financial advisors by answering product and case questions and providing timely case-status updates.
  • Prepare, review, and process insurance applications and supporting paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Scrub documents, order exams and outstanding requirements, and track cases from submission through issue.
  • Assist with agent contracting, licensing, and carrier appointment processing.
  • Help route and respond to commission-related questions.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, CRM records, and client/advisor information.
  • Deliver responsive, professional service to advisors, clients, carriers, and internal team members.
What You Bring
  • Active Florida 2-15 Life, Health & Annuity license.
  • One to two years of administrative, customer service, sales-support, or office experience; insurance or financial-services experience is strongly preferred.
  • A genuine interest in building a long-term career in insurance, annuities, retirement products, or financial services.
  • Familiarity with life insurance and annuity products, or a strong desire to learn quickly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; CRM or agency-management system experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, follow-through, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while handling confidential information professionally.
  • Availability to work full-time, on-site in Bradenton, Florida.
Growth Opportunity

This is more than an administrative support position. You will work closely with experienced insurance leadership and gain direct exposure to advisor relationships, product solutions, and insurance case strategy.

Potential career paths include:

  • Advanced internal sales support
  • Life and annuity case management
  • Case design and product support
  • Internal wholesaling
  • Advisor relationship management
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: Competitive base salary, annual bonus potential, and comprehensive benefits.

Benefits include:

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off, paid holidays, and vacation days
  • Direct mentorship and daily access to experienced insurance leadership
  • A stable, established company with meaningful long-term career potential

If you are organized, proactive, and energized by helping financial advisors and a high-performing sales organization succeed, we would love to hear from you.
