Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level CAD Designer in our Daphne, AL office to assist with a wide range of challenging projects. This is an opportunity for an individual to join a team of energetic, highly engaged professionals. The ideal candidate will have a prominent role on our team, strong communication skills, and a desire to work collaboratively with Project Engineers in the design and production of contract documents for various projects related to civil engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare plans, sections, and detailed layout drawings for an array of civil engineering projects
  • Assist in the production of contract drawing submittals while interfacing and coordinating with various engineering disciplines, technicians, and other design specialists;
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • High School diploma required.
  • Completion of Engineering Technology Associate's or 4-year degree in an engineering field of study is strongly preferred.
  • Previous internship experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability with current versions AutoCADD, and AutoCADD-Civil 3D;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to apply theories, principles, concepts and practices of civil engineering
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be a self-starter who is detail-oriented

The insurance package includes medical, dental, vision, and supplemental life. Additional insurances, at no cost to the employee: life (employee only), accidental death and dismemberment, business travel and accident, and short- and long-term disability are also provided. Employees pay a share of Dewberry's premium expenses (on a pre-tax basis) for medical and dental insurance plans.
Dewberry offers a wide range of other employee benefits, including: 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan, 529 College Savings Plans, Travel Assistance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Spending Accounts and Supplemental Life Insurance for employee, spouse, and children.
Positions within our officer program are also eligible for an annual bonus and monthly stipend. Both vary based on level within the program and bonuses are dependent upon company and individual performance. Certain positions are also eligible to receive overtime pay, whereas all non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime (subject to approval).
