Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Director of Programs 1 - Production Master Planner for a large-scale program located in Roy, UT. The position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Strategy.
The program leader will be responsible for the horizontal and vertical integration of the programmatic, contractual, and technical elements of the program as captured in the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to help ensure an executable program.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Establish strategy for alignment and inputs and develop initial what-if plans that will form the basis to eventually integrate the Master Plan and Master Schedule with program definition and overall Program Vision

  • What-If analysis to support optimization of program objectives

  • Consistency / Completeness of the what-if schedules and IMP/IMS with program definition documentation. Align activities with EMD Master Planner for handoffs and optimization.

  • Executability of the what-if schedules and IMP/IMS (Margin definition / utilization, Risk adjusted Critical Path Analysis, potential watch paths, analysis of leading schedule indictors)

  • Responsible for developing, integrating, and managing all program master schedules baseline in alignment with contractual requirements and major proposal efforts

  • Develop and maintain all Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), and Integrated Master Schedule

  • Provide execution visibility to contract requirements and program master schedules including metrics for high-risk interdependencies (e.g., supply chain, test, engineering, etc.)

  • Develop and maintain program specific plans, plans integrating across programs, risk planning, systems engineering planning and resource planning

  • Determine and manage program resource requirements, as well as facilitate earned value

  • Coordinates risk identification, assessment and mitigation with Risk, Issue and Opportunity (RIO) team

  • Maintain business assumptions and program sourcing strategies as well as Block Point Change schedules and Return to Green (RTG) plans for schedule impacts

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience , OR a master's degree and 8 years of related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of formal people leadership experience (team lead, manager or equivalent) in a program-oriented environment
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Integrated Master Planning (WBS/IMP/IMS) on largescale aerospace or defense programs
  • Experience with enterprise-wide schedule integration tools
  • Experience with Program Operations functions including:
  • Program Control
  • Scheduling
  • Contracts
  • Negotiations
  • Subcontracts
  • Data Center
  • Facility Planning
  • Experience with risk identification, assessment and mitigation in a multi-discipline team setting
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (or higher) last investigated within 6 years or enrolled in continuous evaluation and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • MS in STEM or MBA degree

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, production program management and master planning specific roles

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in process development, process maturation or product life cycle development in both EMD and Production Programs

  • Current Special Program Access (PAR)

Primary Level Salary Range: $193,800.00 - $290,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
