As a Hunter Communications Contractor Operations & Quality Control Manager you'll be responsible for the successful integration, performance, quality, and operational readiness of Hunter's installation and maintenance contractors. You will serve as the primary liaison between Hunter Communications and our contractor partners, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Hunter standards.


This position is responsible for contractor onboarding, training coordination, quality assurance, billing review, market readiness, inventory coordination, performance management, and operational support. In addition, the role is responsible for conducting quality control reviews of both contractor and internal technician work to ensure consistency in customer experience and installation standards across the company. The successful candidate will regularly travel throughout Hunter's service territory, perform field audits, review operational performance metrics, support market launches, and collaborate with dispatch, engineering, customer service, sales, construction, installation, and other teams to ensure successful service experience. You will find yourself working daily in software systems to support that success. You'll need to excel at communication with our partners, teams, and Employees.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for installation and maintenance contractors
  • Coordinate contractor onboarding and training programs
  • Ensure contractors maintain compliance with Hunter standards, SOPs, contractual obligations, and safety requirements
  • Conduct field audits and quality control inspections on contractor and employee work
  • Track contractor performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Review contractor billing for accuracy and compliance with approved scopes of work
  • Coordinate contractor staffing and market deployment activities
  • Support market launches and operational readiness initiatives
  • Develop and maintain contractor scorecards and performance reporting
  • Identify recurring quality, training, or process issues and drive corrective actions
  • Collaborate with dispatch to ensure contractor schedules and capacity align with operational needs
  • Partner with engineering, construction, and operations teams to support service delivery goals
  • Conduct job observations, site visits, quality control, safety, and operational reviews
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of installation, repair, and quality standards
  • Support vendor selection, evaluation, and performance reviews
  • Monitor customer escalations involving contractor-performed work
  • Maintain positive working relationships with contractor leadership and field personnel
  • Ensure consistent customer experience standards across all fulfillment resources

Requirements

  • Telecommunications installation, repair, or operations experience
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic service delivery and field operations
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, or third-party service providers preferred
  • Experience conducting quality assurance and field audits
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to influence without direct authority
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and reporting systems

Compensation & Hours


The schedule for this position is 5 days a week (Monday through Friday) with a regular on-call rotation. Evening, weekend work, and travel throughout our service territory may occur. This is an Exempt position, salary determined by experience.
