Tidewater Roofing, a leading provider of roofing and gutter solutions in Hampton Roads and Richmond, VA, is experiencing significant growth and expanding its presence in the Richmond multi-family housing market. As a Business Development Manager – Multi-Family Housing, you will play a pivotal role in building and managing a territory from the ground up, focusing on developing long-term relationships with property management companies, ownership groups, and community association stakeholders. Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of multi-family properties and property management companies throughout the Richmond, VA market
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for roof replacement, service/repair, and gutter solutions within existing and prospective multi-family accounts
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with property managers, owners, and community association decision-makers
  • Represent Tidewater Roofing at industry events and property management association meetings to expand brand presence and network
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, estimating, and project management, to ensure seamless project handoff and execution
  • Track and report on sales pipeline activity, lead sources, and account status using company CRM and reporting tools
  • Promote Tidewater Roofing’s full suite of services—including replacement, service, gutters, and drone inspection—within the multi-family portfolio
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of business development or sales experience in the multi-family sector, ideally within roofing, exteriors, building services, or a related trade; or experience in multi-family property management or ownership with direct knowledge of capital project decision-making
  • Established relationships with property management companies and ownership groups in the Richmond, VA market preferred
  • Proven ability to manage a long, relationship-driven sales cycle involving multiple stakeholders and board-level approvals
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the company professionally to property owners, boards, and management companies
  • Self-motivated and comfortable building a territory from the ground up
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and disciplined in pipeline and activity tracking
  • Valid driver's license
Compensation

Total target compensation: $58,000 – $100,000, including a base salary of $52,000, performance-based bonuses tied to activity and pipeline milestones, and uncapped commission based on closed roofing replacement and service revenue. Compensation is structured to reward both relationship-building and revenue generation, with strong performers able to reach the top of the range and beyond as the territory matures.
