Job description

Aegeus Inspection is a national leader in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) sector, delivering non-destructive testing (NDT), inspection, and specialized workforce solutions across the aerospace, power, and oil & gas industries. We are a trusted partner dedicated to enhancing the quality, safety, and reliability of our clients’ assets and infrastructure while protecting the integrity of their operations. 

Position Overview

The main function of the Civil Engineer is to provide support related to construction material testing and geophysical and geotechnical inspections with 5 hours per report max for review. As required, the engineer will be responsible for final approval of civil test reports for compliance with our internal quality program and project specifications prior to submission to the client. The engineer will assure that the work is completed by qualified staff using appropriate equipment meeting the requirements of our NQA -1 quality program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform periodic reconnaissance of the on-site testing laboratory to assure that procedures are in-place and being followed to provide acceptable results.
  • Review test reports and stamp documents to affirm the results are acceptable and compliant with procedure.
  • Review commercial software acquired to support the project for adequacy in producing acceptable and repeatable results.
  • Track the reports to assure they are processed and returned with a one week turnaround or less as specified by the client.
  • Support operational inquires in a timely
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Maintain a strong customer service focus.
  • Enforce and abide the requirements of safe operation and personal safety using required Personal Protective Equipment and
  • Safe Practices per company policy.
  • Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Practical application of Civil/Materials Engineering and or Engineering Science and Technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment of various goods and services.
  • Aware of the properties of and testing of soil, concrete, aggregate, grout, CLSM, and asphalt.
  • Ability to review and interpret project specification and plans for testing requirement.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, WSDOT and/or ICC test standards including ASTM C1077, ASTM D3740
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 5 or more years Mechanical/Materials engineering or related field experience, including projects highly desired.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Certificates and Licenses Required

  • Washington State Civil Professional Engineer License.
  • Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under Company insurance program
