Role Summary:

The Data Center IT Engineer is mainly an operational role with some strategic responsibilities. This position will be responsible for the secure, stable, and optimized operations of the Credit Union’s Data Center infrastructure, storage, compute, virtualization, server operating systems and supporting technologies They will ensure that Gesa’s data center is functioning properly and will monitor system health, resolve complex issues, implement upgrades and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to enhance services.  This position also provides technical training to junior team members and contributes to the development of data center standards and governance, documentation, and disaster recovery planning.

What You Will Be Doing:
  1. With guidance from the Infrastructure Manager, contribute to efforts around managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and securing data centers
  2. Assist in troubleshooting complex data center issues and participates in multi-platform troubleshooting, representing data center
  3. Ensure upgrades, updates, and patches are planned, tested, and are completed, maintaining compliance with vendor requirements in accordance with our standards, and control procedures
  4. Review and implement end user accounts, permissions, and access rights to data center
  5. Perform system backups and recovery of data center devices
  6. Monitor and test data center resource performance and provide statistics and reports to leadership in autoimated/on demand fashion
  7. Maintain inventory of all data center assets
  8. Maintain documentation as it relates to the system configurations, mapping, processes, services, and infrastructure in our data centers
  9. Responsible for testing of a comprehensive Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan (DR/BCP) associated with the credit union’s data centers. Coordinate the testing of the DR/BCP plan at a minimum annually
  10. Represent infrastructure team in projects regarding the data centers.
  11. Follow change management procedures and communicate to the appropriate parties when implementing changes
  12. Contribute to efforts to design and deploy new solutions and enhancements to the data center infrastructure and software and plan and document standards for approval
  13. Interact and collaborate with vendors, partners, and contractors to enhance and secure data center products and services
  14. Ensure all data center implementations are consistent with IT Security best practices
  15. Maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for data center resource administration
  16. Train junior members of the infrastructure team in technical skills
  17. Maintain knowledge of current and evolving technology
About You:

What You Will Need:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology discipline or experience in a related field or equivalent of specialized courses, training, and/or directly related experience may be substituted. Advanced degree preferred
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of similar or related functional and technical experience
  3. AZ-800/801 or AZ104 preferred
  4. A+, Network +, Server_, Linux+ certifications preferred
  5. VCTA / VCPDCV Data Center Virtualization preferred
  6. In-depth knowledge of Datacenter technologies and best practices
  7. Experience with Unix/Linux OS
  8. Experience with Datacenter Technology security features and best practices
  9. Requires participation in an after-hours on-call rotation
  10. Requires ability to respond to alerts, troubleshoot issues, and provide support and vendor escalations within established SLAs

Full Salary Range:

Richland, WA: $83,450.81-$139,084.69

Yakima, WA: $83,450.81-$139,084.69

*While our full pay range is listed, most new team members typically start between the minimum and midpoint based on their experience and qualifications.  This approach gives room to grow within the role as your career progresses with us!"
