Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Preparing and implementing plans, such as the Active Transportation Plan, Coordinated Transit Plan, Long-Range Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Program, Unified Planning Work Program, and Public Participation Plan.
  • Facilitating the regional Active Transportation Committee.
  • Leading Complete Streets planning and policy activities.
  • Serving as a liaison to transit operators and human service agencies.
  • Analyzing transportation, demographic, economic, land use, and related data.
  • Presenting to boards, committees, commissions, and at public meetings.
  • Providing technical assistance and other support to local project sponsors.
  • Preparing scopes of work for transportation studies and plans.
  • Preparing progress reports for invoices and stakeholder communications.

Qualifications/skills:

  • Bachelors degree in planning, Geography, Engineering, Transportation Studies, GIS, Environmental Studies, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • At least four years of related job experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation laws, funding sources, processes, policies, and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is a must.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving & critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data collection, analysis, and research methods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • AICP certification or PE license is desirable.
  • ArcGIS familiarity is a plus.
