Job description

Position Title: Sound Insulation Design Manager
This is an opportunity to step into a leadership position with a well-established Southern California design firm that specializes in residential rehabilitation and sound insulation projects. You'll lead a team of designers, oversee production efforts, manage client relationships, and help deliver large-scale programs that directly impact communities throughout the region.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys balancing project management, team development, and technical production work. Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 / Year DOE
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field visits to residences to prepare drawings in Revit, overseeing the production of floor plans of as-built conditions
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural subconsultants
  • Oversee and perform QA/QC of drawings
  • Ensure construction documents are prepared according to client requirements, regulatory codes, and quality control standards
  • Understand project work scope, policies, code compliance issues, and internal budgets to produce quality work
  • Incorporate firm-wide quality and design standards into the work
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and project team members
  • Stay updated on new developments with Revit and construction document production
  • Gather necessary background information from the field and other sources in a timely manner
  • Oversee field surveys to ensure complete information is gathered for projects
  • Utilize Revit to prepare project documents
  • Manage the preparation and coordination of contract documents
  • Run team meetings and manage design schedules
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including property owners
  • Conduct quality control reviews

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in sound insulation design projects
  • 5+ years of experience in design for residential rehabilitation and sound insulation work
  • Experience with multifamily rehab renovation
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Management experience is required
  • 5+ years of experience in design for residential rehab/sound insulation work is preferred
  • A BA Degree is preferred
