Job description

Propak Systems Ltd. is an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking Journeyman Insulators to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB.

We offer day, evening and weekend shifts with excellent premiums for evening and weekend day shifts. Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements and select type of insulation required.
  • Measure and cut insulating material to required dimensions using hand and power tools.
  • Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping and other application and installation methods.
  • Fit insulation around obstructions and protrusions.
  • Install vapor barriers.
  • Apply waterproofing finishes over insulating materials to weatherproof surfaces.
  • Gives instructions and/or orders to apprentices to establish suitable goals, action plans, and timelines for project completion.
  • Coaches, mentors, and assists with evaluation of the apprentices through the employee performance management process to ensure completion of the apprenticeship program.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate, or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of directly related work experience.
  • As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
  • This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices.
