THE TYPE OF ASSISTANT INSULATION INSTALLER WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Valid CT driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Good basic math skills
  • Skilled craftsmanship, neat work habits, and a quality approach to work
  • Ability to carry 50 lbs., climb a 20-foot ladder, and work in attics or crawl spaces
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and reliability, as well as good interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • Certification from BPI
  • Experience with construction and diagnostic equipment
  • Knowledge of air distribution, home performance, and building science
  • Interest or experience in energy conservation, duct sealing, and weather stripping
  • Ability to assume project responsibility and delegate to helpers

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE OUR ASSISTANT INSULATION INSTALLER

You will work in person from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm each day, or until the job is done. Sometimes, you may work overtime if needed. This is a full-time job with regular hours and steady work year-round.


As an Assistant Insulation Installer, you will spend your days helping to make homes more comfortable and energy efficient. You will put in different types of insulation, like fiber-glass batts and blown-in cellulose or fiber-glass. You will also help seal up homes, add weather stripping, and do other work to help save energy as part of the HES program. Most days, you will move materials, climb ladders, and work in small spaces like attics and crawl spaces. You might work alone or with a team, always focusing on doing a neat and careful job and speaking politely with customers and coworkers.
