Who we are:

The Instrumentation/Fabrication Technician supports the growth of the Custom Solutions department by increasing productivity and assisting team members with basic and intermediate fabrication duties. This role is handson, technical, and ideal for individuals eager to learn and develop within a fabrication and instrumentation environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the 5S standard of the shop and general housekeeping
  • Assemble mechanical assemblies and panels
  • Assist with inspections and testing
  • Operate CNC equipment for bending and coiling
  • Assist with equipment maintenance
  • Assist Field Engineering team on layouts
  • Cutting and deburring tubing
  • Bend tubing by hand and with CNC bender
  • Install Swagelok tube fittings
  • Produce Swagelok hoses
  • Set relief valves
  • Conduct pressure tests
  • Work handson with product and collaborate with a team to complete projects on time
  • Complete training through Swagelok University online portal
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned as development progresses
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and grow within the role


Qualifications/Skills Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Trade Training
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools

An asset but not required:

  • Technical industry background
  • Experience as a carpenter, millwright, metal worker, construction worker, electrician, fabricator, or welder
  • Experience within Oil & Gas industry or Instrumentation industry


Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic computer skills such as email and internet usage
  • Knowledge on analytic software including but not limited to: SAP, Crystal Reports, Advanced Excel Analytics, Power BI, and Business Systems
  • Understanding of assembly, fabrication, or instrumentation
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to think and problem solve analytically

An asset but not required:

  • Ability to read P&ID or CAD drawings
  • Understanding of Solidworks software
  • Awareness of the Swagelok product line
