Turner Industries Group, LLC has openings for Instrument Fitters to join our team in Deer Park, TX. Candidates must be proficient in bending and running tubing, able to fabricate small runs of screw piping, and able to replace steam traps. Non-exempt role; reports to the foreman; performs a variety of routine duties with established policies.
NO per diem or relocation available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in/near the area.
  • 40 hrs, overtime and call outs as needed
  • Seeking skilled Journeyman
  • Instrumentation Degree or NCCER Certification preferred
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check

General Job Description:
Plans layout, fabricates, assembles, installs and repairs instruments, both electronic and pneumatic,
including primary piping and tubing.
Functional Requirements:
Selects type and size of pipe and related material according to job specification; installs new,
modifies or repairs existing installations; measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs
primary piping and tubing; installs tubing, multitude bundles, junction boxes, instruments, both
electronic and pneumatic, air piping and tubing; connects all piping and tubing to equipment; leak
tests all piping and tubing installed; observes all installed instrument and systems to determine
hazards, need for adjustment, relocation or replacement; may repair faulty equipment or systems;
minimizes waste of material and avoids unsightly, hazardous or unreliable installations.
Qualification Standards:
  • Four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
  • Written pre-employment qualification test
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
  • OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
  • Job site orientation
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots,

etc.)
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing

protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
