Job description

Senior Field Service Engineer – Scientific Instrumentation (West Coast)

Take your field service career to the next level supporting some of the world's most advanced scientific imaging systems. This is more than a traditional Field Service Engineer role—you'll become a senior technical resource responsible for complex installations, critical escalations, and supporting cutting-edge research, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing customers across the Western U.S.

You'll install, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, and maintain sophisticated electron microscopy and analytical instrumentation while serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers. Working closely with North American and global technical support teams, you'll solve complex electromechanical challenges without being left to work alone. Friday is typically reserved for documentation and home office work. Extensive travel (Monday–Thursday) is expected throughout the territory.

This organization invests heavily in its engineers, including classroom training, customer ride-alongs, and factory training in the Czech Republic during your first year. Long term, you'll have the opportunity to become a recognized product specialist and technical subject matter expert.

What we're looking for:

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical education

  • 5+ years servicing complex capital equipment or scientific instrumentation

  • Expert electromechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

  • Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building abilities

  • Experience with electron microscopy, SEM, FIB/DualBeam, MicroCT, medical imaging, laboratory instrumentation, high-vacuum systems, or other high-end analytical equipment

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary target around $120,000 (flexibility for exceptional candidates)

  • 3 weeks PTO

  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) with 100% match on the first 4%

  • Company laptop, expense card, cell and internet reimbursement, and exceptional technical training and career development.
