Job description

Job DetailsJob Location: Fargo, ND 58102Salary Range: $65.00 - $85.00 HourlyCommissioning Superintendent - Data Center Construction

Praetorian Power Protection, the leader in NETA testing and staff augmentation for the mission critical industry, is seeking an experienced and highly technical Commissioning Superintendent to oversee all aspects of commissioning and closeout for cuttingโ€‘edge data center projects. If you have a proven track record managing complex electrical and mechanical systems through final acceptance, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities
  • Commissioning Execution: Manage and execute all phases of commissioning, including Level 2 (L2) and Level 3 (L3) functional performance testing for critical power and cooling infrastructure.
  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Implement and enforce rigorous QA/QC procedures throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
  • Closeout and Completion: Drive the final project closeout process, including managing and completing punch lists and ensuring the delivery of comprehensive closeout documentation.
  • System Expertise: Provide technical leadership in one or more of the following domains:
    • Electrical Systems: Medium voltage, low voltage, UPS, and generator systems.
    • Controls/Instrumentation (I&C): Building Management Systems (BMS), fiber optic controls, and distributed control systems.
    • Mechanical Systems: HVAC, chiller plants, and related data center cooling infrastructure.
  • Technical Problemโ€‘Solving: Utilize strong technical skills to troubleshoot complex system deficiencies and implement effective solutions in the field.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate activities between general contractors, subcontractors, commissioning agents, and the ownerโ€™s operations team.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction or commissioning, with at least 3 years in a Superintendent or lead CX role.
  • Mandatory experience working specifically on data center construction projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise and handsโ€‘on experience with L2 and L3 commissioning processes.
  • Deep technical knowledge in electrical, controls (I&C and fiber optic), and/or mechanical systems.
  • Exceptional skills in managing and driving project completion, punch list resolution, and final system signโ€‘off.
  • Proficiency with commissioning software/tools and documentation management.
