Job description

Wauford, an Ardurra Company is growing and looking for a Surveying Assistant for our Nashville, TN office.

Wauford is an environmental engineering firm with a primary focus on preliminary planning, design and construction management services for water and wastewater projects. Providing consulting services since 1956, our firm has the experience to complete a range of projects from challenging water and wastewater treatment plant designs to preliminary studies for water and sewer line extensions. We have two offices which serve all of Tennessee and Kentucky. We currently serve over 40 municipal clients located in Kentucky and Tennessee, some of which we have served continuously for over 65 years.

Primary Function:

Works under direct supervision of the Survey Party Chief to complete field surveys and minimal technical support involving office software, computer skills, record keeping, and general inquiries. Candidate will interact with clients and other employees on a regular basis and expect to be able to communicate effectively with them. Enjoyment of working outside is critical along with ability to travel.

Primary Duties:

  • Complete field survey of various water and wastewater utility projects
  • Oversees schedule assignments and provide support for Survey Party Chief
  • Assist in other general technical support as needed
  • Collaborate with Engineers, and CAD Technicians as assigned or needed
  • Reviews draft survey drawings in preparation for final submission

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School or equivalent required
  • Ability to travel up to three nights per week required
  • Some previous survey experience preferred but not required
  • Basic Math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work together with a team or individually. Must be team-oriented and self-motivated
