Job description

Dr. Charles L. Sifford Golf Course, located in Charlotte, NC, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Part-Time Instructor! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Pay
$10 per hour + commission, based on experience
Summary
The Golf Teaching Professional will work closely with the Head Golf Professional and Lead Golf Instructor to promote and conduct golf instruction and will play a lead role in all Ladies instructional programs.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements
  • PGA/LPGA Class A Member or PGA/LPGA Associate working toward membership
  • Must be a dedicated golf instructor with a minimum of one year of related experience in golf instruction and club-fitting techniques
  • Teaching and coaching experience in all aspects of the game of golf; experience with video analysis preferred
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills
  • Must have highly polished interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people easily and quickly
  • Must be extremely organized, efficient, and detail-oriented
  • Must be highly motivated, goal-driven, and a self-starter
  • Must work extremely well in a team environment

Responsibilities
  • Take a lead role in all Ladies Programs, Private and Group Instruction, Golf Schools, Corporate Clinics, Member Clinics, and Junior Programs
  • Provide golf instruction to Tiburon membership, resort guests, students from the community, and juniors
  • Assist in the supervision and upkeep of the practice facilities to ensure that safe, clean, organized, and professional conditions exist throughout
  • Assist the Golf Academy with all current instructional programs
  • Assist in keeping all teaching aids and instruction inventory in excellent condition
  • Participate in administrative duties as directed and as needed to ensure smooth operation of the golf instruction program
  • Perform some of the opening and closing duties of the instruction program as directed
  • Represent the facility in the community and with local businesses through promotional activities and programs
