STATEMENT OF JOBย 

Theย Instructorย IIย is responsible forย providing quality instruction and supervision forย adults with intellectual disabilities,ย challengingย behaviorsย and/or dual diagnosis.ย ย The position of Instructor IIย isย responsible forย implementing the Companyโ€™s positive behavioral program,ย complying withย the Agencyโ€™s policies and procedures,ย andย demonstratingย appropriateย complianceย toย Employee Rules of Conduct.ย 

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIESย 

  • Provideย direct individual and group instruction to assignedย participantsย in accordance withย participantโ€™sย abilities, goals, agency trainingย levelย and agency goals.ย 

  • Provideย constantย appropriate supervisionย ofย participants, implementย age appropriateย training activities, and applyย agency training methods to ensure structure toย workingย environment.ย ย ย 

  • Maintainย an environment which promotes non-aversive behaviorย programming;ย usingย positive interactionsย withย participantsย on a daily basis,ย responding to crisis using good judgmentย and using approved crisis techniques.ย 

  • Collectย andย tabulateย pertinent data in an error-free manner.ย 

  • Thoroughly and accurately completeย program paperwork.ย 

  • Implementย individualizedย assessmentย toย developย objectivesย and plans thatย are in agreementย with program andย participantย identifiedย goals.ย 

  • Initiateย communication andย demonstrateย work habits thatย facilitateย teamwork with co-workers.ย

  • Provideย thorough andย accurateย participantย evaluation andย objectivesย to Programย Coorยญdinator.ย ย 

  • Assess andย ensureย the physical needs of theย participantย are met; communicateย potential health problems to any supervisorย in a timely manner; and initiate approved first-aid techniques during medicalย crisis.ย 

  • Develop and presentย documentation and data and provideย input on individualย participantย programs.ย 

  • Initiateย timelyย communication with others, both co-workers and external professionals,ย regardingย participantย services and pertinent program issues.ย 

  • Plan, supervise, and thoroughly documentย appropriateย participantย outings, activities, and meetings.ย 

  • Participateย in,ย and successfully complete,ย requiredย in-service training toย maintainย certification and improve job related skills.ย 

  • Evaluateย existing program structure and workย with others to develop and implement tools, techniques, and other resources to improve program effectiveness.ย

  • Must be physically and mentally fit to work withย participants who are potentially dangerous to self or others in accordance with the Companyโ€™s Physical and Mental Fitness standards; must be willing to complete a health screening physical examination that includes a drug screenย and TB test;ย and must have the unrestricted capacity to employย Non-Violent Crisis Interventionย Training for use in difficult situations.ย
