Job description

ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors in the Medical Assistant (MA) program. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION : Part-time/adjunct faculty in the Medical Assistant program are responsible for teaching the objectives for any course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs through the Medical Assistant Education Review Board.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Meets the minimum instructor requirements for any course assigned. Requirements vary per individual Medical Assistant course.
  2. A credentialed Medical Assistant is preferred.
  3. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  4. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers, applicable software, and Internet - dependent on the needs of course delivery.

STARTING SALARY: Salary varies based on educational level and number of units taught.

WORK LOCATION
The MA program is offered at the SWIC Belleville Campus. Depending on course assignment(s), the instructor may be required to visit clinical sites.
